To reduce the spread of epidemic COVID-19, the world’s two biggest companies, Google and Apple, join their hands. They decided to help Governments and health organizations through their technology.
This technology is based on the principle of creating an alert on mobile if its user recently gets in contact with the one who found positive in the COVID-19 test. This alarm will help to quarantine such people and create ease for the government and the medical staff as it helps to reach out to the tracking details of users.
Multiple organizations, NGOs, governments use technical tools to craft multiple apps to connect essential health services to the people. In the spirit to save lives, initially, these giant companies provide collaborative solutions that include application programming interfaces(APIs) and operating system-level technology to retrofit applications designed for this purpose.
To help public health officials slow the spread of #COVID19, Google & @Apple are working on a contact tracing approach designed with strong controls and protections for user privacy. @tim_cook and I are committed to working together on these efforts.https://t.co/T0j88YBcFu

“First, in May, both companies will release APIs that enable interoperability between Android and iOS devices using apps from public health authorities. These official apps will be available for users to download via their respective app stores.” both companies said in a joint statement. “Second, in the coming months, Apple and Google will work to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform by building this functionality into the underlying platforms.” they further added.
No GPS location or personal information would be recorded to assure privacy and transparency are important consent for both companies. They collaborate with the aim to get society back up with this pandemic and run smoothly.
